Malta’s strategy and regulatory framework for Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) such as cryptocurrency businesses (including exchanges) and virtual assets are creating new business opportunities in a fast-evolving digital environment. The Maltese parliament has enacted 3 laws enabling blockchain based businesses: The Malta Digital Innovation Authority Act, The Technology Arrangements and Services Act and the Virtual Financial Assets Act. Subsequently a series of Regulations were also published including the necessary details and explanations with the aim of:
