

Malta Tax Residence - MRVP

Eligibility Criteria
The Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP) enables non-EU, non-EEA or non-Swiss to a residence permit in Malta and all the Schengen countries. This Programme requires the applicant to primarily:

Pay an application fee of Eur5,500;

Pay a contribution fee of Eur30,000 (deducting the above fee);

Hold property for at least 5 years prior the date of the certificate, which precedes the granting of a Malta Residence Permit. Such property to be:

purchased for a minimum price of Eur270,000 for a property in the south of Malta or Gozo / Eur320,000 for the rest of Malta; or
-
leased for a minimum annual rent of Eur10,000 for a property situated in the south of Malta or Gozo / Eur12,000 for a property situated in the rest of Malta;

Hold a qualifying investment for a minimum value of Eur250,000 for at least 5 years from the date of the issuing of the certificate;

Provide a declaration that applicant has either an annual income of not less than Eur100,000 arising outside Malta or be in possession of capital not less than Eur500,000; and

Applicant required, in each 5 year period from the date of issuance of the residence certificate, to spend a period of time outside of Malta (6 consecutive months; or an aggregate period of 10 months over the 5 year period).
